Overview:
The 7th-Hackathon-Taiwan-Junior project is a PHP-based web application that aims to provide a platform for offering services such as digital device rental and remote teaching, aimed at helping rural areas or economically challenged groups. Through our services, we aim to bridge the educational gap between urban and rural areas, ensuring that everyone has equal access to education.
BackGround:
In response to challenges like wealth disparity, climate change, and gender equality, the United Nations launched the “2030 Sustainable Development Goals” (SDGs) in 2015. This initiative proposed 17 core objectives for global governments and businesses to work towards sustainable development. The fourth goal emphasizes “ensuring inclusive and equitable quality education and promoting lifelong learning opportunities for all.”
Goal:
To improve the digital device deficit among disadvantaged groups and to address the challenges of learning through digital products, we plan to launch a digital resource sharing platform. This platform will provide services such as digital device rental and remote teaching, targeting rural areas or economically disadvantaged groups. Our goal is to bridge the educational gap between urban and rural areas through our services, embodying the principle that everyone deserves equal access to education.
Services:
The current challenge faced by disadvantaged students in Taiwan regarding remote learning includes a lack of devices, internet access, computer literacy, and after-school tutoring. To address this, our team has decided to develop a website offering device rental, computer usage tutorials, and online and offline tutoring courses.
For the rental aspect, we aim to provide free computer rental services to disadvantaged groups, allowing them to engage in remote learning. We will provide the devices and teach them how to learn online. Therefore, we offer computer usage courses and various tutoring sessions to assist them. These courses are also open to older adults, promoting lifelong societal learning.
Our vision extends beyond Taiwan; we aim to reach the world, ensuring that students and elders have fair access to digital learning opportunities globally.
